Andrea Musso

Andrea Musso Andrea Musso is an executive with over 25 years of experience in the asset management and real estate investment sectors in Italy. With a background in economics and finance, after graduating in Economics he attended Banca Nazionale del Lavoro’s Management Development Program, embarking on a career path that led him, from 1997 onward, to become one of the pioneers in the development of Italian real estate funds. He led the launch of the first three asset management companies specialized in the sector (BNL Fondi Immobiliari SGR, Deutsche Bank Fondimmobiliari SGR, Polis Fondi SGR), contributing to the structuring of the market and the definition of operating and governance models. He also oversaw the stock exchange listing of the first two closed-end real estate funds and managed portfolios worth over €1.5 billion, mainly development-oriented, including projects designed by internationally renowned architects such as Renzo Piano, Vittorio Gregotti, Erick van Egeraat, and Chapman Taylor.
Over the last 15 years, he has specialized in turnaround and special situations, managing transactions worth approximately €5 billion, with an integrated approach combining financial structuring, stakeholder management, and operational execution, with a strong focus on value creation and risk mitigation.
He is currently Managing Partner of Murena Advisors S.r.l., which provides strategic advisory services in the real estate and financial sectors, offering innovative asset management solutions and support for the launch of European AIFMs and comparable U.S. fund management structures. As part of Murena’s activities, he also advises operators and investors on strategic and organizational consulting projects in the hospitality sector, working on governance models between ownership and operators, planning and control systems (budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and operational KPIs), and repositioning and value-enhancement plans (service standards, capex plans, revenue optimization, and cost rationalization), including in situations of management discontinuity or preparation for disposal.
He also provides advisory services in the areas of compliance and governance, with particular reference to the preparation and updating of Organizational, Management and Control Models under Italian Legislative Decree 231/2001 (‘Model 231’ or ‘MOG 231’) in the financial services sector and in selected industrial sectors. In this context, he oversees the mapping of sensitive processes and control systems, the definition of operational protocols (powers and delegations, traceability, management of expenses and gifts, safeguards relating to third parties and suppliers), as well as the structuring of information flows to the Supervisory Body, training plans, and monitoring mechanisms.
Thanks to his experience, he has held top executive positions such as Chief Executive Officer, General Manager, and Chief Operating Officer in major real estate and financial companies. He is also a speaker in university courses and specialist seminars, contributing to the training of new generations of professionals in the fields of finance and real estate.
